Recently, NSW Labor called for nominations for a preselection in the State Electorate of Heathcote.  Sitting Member of Parliament, Ms Maryanne Stuart MP, nominated and was successfully elected unopposed.

Ms Stuart is excited to be the candidate for the Minns Labor Government at the next NSW state election, scheduled for March 2027.

Member for Heathcote, Maryanne Stuart said:

“I have delivered on many election commitments, but there is more to do.

“From the Helensburgh Police Station, to School Halls for Heathcote High and Sutherland Public School, major repair works at Garie Rd and Heathcote Rd, and with the next stage of upgrades along Heathcote Road commencing in October, we are continuing to deliver the infrastructure and services our community deserves.

“The new Mariyung Trains are now operating along the South Coast and T4 lines, with a new timetable commencing in October, improving reliability and capacity for local commuters.

“We have also invested in our emergency services, with a $5 million commitment to upgrade Fire and Rescue NSW stations in the Heathcote electorate. This includes completed works at Coledale, Sutherland, Thirroul and Helensburgh stations. I have also made a commitment for a new Engadine Fire Station, with our growing population. This station is close to Heathcote Road, the M1 and the Royal National Park.

“New equipment and funding has also been provided to RFS Brigades across the seat, as well as Surf Life Saving Clubs, Sporting Clubs and not for profit community organisations.

“I am seeking re-election to continue fighting for the people of Heathcote and ensuring our community receives the investment and attention it deserves. It is a privilege to serve the people of Heathcote. If I’m lucky enough to be re-elected, I would continue to work hard every day to deliver for our communities and build on the strong foundations we have established together."
