The NSW Government is progressing plans to deliver improved commuter parking at Heathcote Station to make public transport more accessible, safe and convenient for local residents.
A concept design, work considering local site opportunities and constraints, has now been prepared to extend the existing commuter car park on Wilson Parade.
The key features proposed for Heathcote Station include:
- Around 30 additional commuter parking spaces in the Wilson Parade commuter car park
- Improved safety features, including upgraded lighting, CCTV and wayfinding signage
- An extended parking layout
The upgrade is being planned under the Safe Accessible Transport Program, which aims to ensure public transport is safe, inclusive and easy to use for all customers – particularly people with disability, older people, parents and carers with prams, people travelling with luggage, and others who may experience mobility challenges.
Planning is underway to engage a design and construction contractor who will finalise the design and deliver the upgrade.
Work is expected to begin in 2027, with construction anticipated to take up to 12 months to complete. You can find more information at http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/heathcote.
